I was given to you by sweet Auntie Sue
Nothing but love, all shiny and new
Little Luke can’t get resist my “WOO-WOO-WOO-WOO”
Now he’s crying the dead battery blues
A toy of the times I screech and I shout
Nothing but noise both inside and out
I look good, I admit, but the kid’s got a pout
Now he’s crying the dead battery blues
Aunt Sue is so sweet, she just loves her dear kid
Her “kindness” and gifts makes poor mom flip her lid
Thought before purchase, not something she did
Now he’s crying the dead battery blues
Why toys have to honk, beep and shout, we don’t know
Mom says “technology-based sound-laden toys have to go!”
They’re driving her crazy, she’s ready to blow
Now he’s crying the dead battery blues
Mom seems so happy, she’s calm and serene
Luke is a mess, not a toy to be seen
They toys are all quiet, something they’ve never been
Now he’s crying he dead battery blues
“Dead” they are not, mom knows for a fact
The batteries are actually fully intact
Mom just switched them behind poor Luke’s back
Now he’s crying the dead battery blues
Aunt Sue has enjoyed years of pulling mom’s chain,
Never, never, never again
Mom finally implored, “No more toys, please refrain!”
Now he’s crying the dead battery blues
